Profile
Dr. Manolis Christodoulakis received his BSc in 2001 from the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics, University of Patras (Greece), and his PhD in 2005 from the Department of Computer Science in King’s College London on the subject of String Algorithms.
Since September 2009 he is working as a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus. Previously he had worked in King's College as a Teaching Assistant (2002-5), Research Associate (2005-6) and External Lecturer (2006) and in the University of East London as a Lecturer (2007-9). Also, since 2007 he is a Honorary Visiting Research Fellow in King's College London, while since 2008 he is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, UK.
Research Interests
Design and analysis of combinatorial algorithms especially algorithms on strings, sequence analysis (pattern matching, repetition and motif finding etc.), molecular biology and bioinformatics, computational music analysis, lossless data compression.
