Angela Kleanthous is an English Language instructor at the Language Centre of the University of Cyprus. She has taught English at the college and University level both in Canada and Cyprus. She has been an English instructor at the Language Centre of the University of Cyprus since 2006 and part of the Special Teaching Staff since 2008. She teaches advanced English for Academic Purposes (EAP), as well as different English-for-Specific-Purpose courses (ESP). She supervised the advanced Academic English courses (LAN 100-LAN 101) in the Fall 2009 and Spring 2010 semesters, as well as the ESP courses (Spring 2013-Fall 2013; Fall 2015). She was also the coordinator of the English section of the Language Centre in Academic years 2010-2011 and 2016-2017, 2018-2019. She actively participated in the organization of events for students ( English Works 2012, 2013, 2015) as well as seminars for the professional development of language instructors (ELT for a Day: Current Trends 2016, 2017, 2019). Additionally, she was actively involved in the curriculum revision of the LAN 201: Business Communication for Management course. She is a member of CyLing (Cyprus Linguistic Society), CALICO (Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium), CyTEA (Cyprus Teachers of English Association) and EuroCALL (European association for Call Assisted Language Learning).
 
 
 
She is also a certified examiner for the CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) for the oral part of the IGCSE exams.
 
She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in English Language and Literature from the University of Cyprus (2003), as well as a Master of Arts Degree (MA) in Applied Linguistics from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada (2005).  She has also obtained a PhD degree in Education from the University of Glasgow, Scotland (2021). Her thesis focused on researching the role of technology and more specifically weblogs in improving English writing and speaking skills.
