What is the duration of studies for the undergraduate program?
The academic year comprises two semesters. Eight semesters are normally required for graduation, but in special cases the duration of studies may be extended to a maximum of twelve semesters.

What are the entry requirements for the undergraduate program?
Cypriot Citizens
Those eligible to participate in the exams are Cypriot citizens or those with at least one parent of Cypriot origin. Prospective students must have graduated from a six-year high school, and have completed the necessary application forms within the time limits set by the Ministry of Education and Culture and successfully complete the entrance exams in the subjects of Modern Greek, Mathematics, Physics and a choice of Chemistry, Biology, Computers, Technology (Group A, Polytechnic).
Turkish Cypriots
Turkish Cypriots who hold a six-year high-school diploma are eligible for admission upon satisfactorily passing special examinations set by the University.
Greek Citizens
A limited number of Greek citizens are admitted. Admission is based on the entrance examinations set by the Ministry of Education of Greece. These examinations can also be taken by Cypriots residing in Greece.
Overseas Students
Overseas students who are high-school graduates and possess a good knowledge of Greek can be admitted based on G.C.E. examinations.
1. Modern Greek GCE O level with at least a grade of C
2. Math and Physics GCE A level with at least a grade of B
3. One more GCE A level from: chemistry, biology, applied math, further math, computers with at least grade C
To apply submit:
1. A letter addressed to the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Welfare Services of the University of Cyprus stating the applicants date of birth and choices of Departments to be considered for admission.
2. Copies of all GCE exam score sheets

Cypriots and Greeks of the Diaspora
Greeks of the Diaspora and Cypriots who belong to specific religious minority groups as determined by the constitution of Cyprus, repatriated Cypriots and Cypriots who are permanent residents in other countries, can claim a limited number of positions (3% of the admitted Cypriot students) based on the G.C.E exams as for overseas students.
To apply submit:
1. A letter addressed to the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Welfare Services of the University of Cyprus stating the applicants date of birth and choices of Departments to be considered for admission.
2. Copies of all GCE exam score sheets

Admission by Special Criteria
A limited number of positions (up to 10% of the Cypriot applicants) is offered to special categories of people such as the disabled="disabled"="disabled="disabled"" due to acts of war, children of missing persons, persons living in the occupied area of the country, and those with close relatives who died during the Turkish invasion. Admission is open only to candidates who achieve a certain minimum in the examinations.
To apply submit:
1. A letter addressed to the Division of Academic Affairs and Student Welfare Services of the University of Cyprus stating the applicants identification number, date of birth and choices of Departments to be considered for admission.
2. Copies of exam scores

What happens to vacant positions?
Vacant positions as a result of National Guard enlistment or other reasons are distributed to other candidates based on their mark in the entrance examinations during the second round of position distributions (Δεύτερη Κατανομή) usually in late August.

Can students serving in the National Guard re-apply for admission to the School of Engineering based on their previous exams?
Students who have successfully completed the Group A (Polytechnic) Entrance Exams, as mentioned above, but have not yet started their studies because of the required National Guard service can apply for a position at the School of Engineering at UCy based on their previous exam scores. Admission depends on the availability of positions and the scores of the exams and will be determined during the second round of position distributions (Δεύτερη Κατανομή) usually in late August.

Can students from other universities transfer to the School of Engineering?
A limited number of students from other universities can apply for transfer to the School of Engineering. Here's additional information on the process and the transfer application..

What is the tuition for the undergraduate program?
Fees total 1000 Cyprus Pounds per semester for Cypriot students and are paid by the State, provided that students successfully complete their studies each semester.
Fees for foreign students total 2000 Cyprus Pounds per semester.
Fees for students admitted from Greece are paid by the Republic of Cyprus irrespective of academic performance.

Are evening classes available?
For undergraduate courses generally no. All classes are offered between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. For graduate courses classes are usually in the evening.

Is there an option to complete the degree as a part time student?
There is an option to complete the degree as a part time student (see the undergraduate program of study.) It may however be hard to accommodate working students since classes will not always be available in the evening (see question above.)
