Βασικές σπουδές στο Bryn Mawr College, HΠA (B.A. στην Κλασική Αρχαιολογία και Χημεία, 1989). Μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Ινστιτούτο Αρχαιολογίας, University College London (Ph.D. στην Αρχαιομεταλλουργία 1993). Έχει εργαστεί ως Research Fellow στο Ινστιτούτο Αρχαιολογίας, University College London, (1993). Από το 1994 διδάσκει Αρχαιομετρία και Περιβαλλοντική Αρχαιολογία στο Τμήμα Ιστορίας και Αρχαιολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Κύπρου.

Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα συμπεριλαμβάνουν: εξαγωγική μεταλλουργία και μεταλλοτεχνία στην Αρχαιότητα, αρχαία τεχνολογία (λιθοτεχνία, κεραμική, υαλουργία), συντήρηση μεταλλικών αντικειμένων και η παραγωγή και εξαγωγή κυπριακού χαλκού στην Αρχαιότητα, το εμπόριο των μετάλλων στην Μεσόγειο κατά την Αρχαιότητα, η παραγωγή και χρήση του αργύρου στην Αρχαιότητα.

Συντονίστρια αυτού του προγράμματος Marie Curie Initial Training Network που αποτελείται από ένα δίκτυο επτά ακαδημαϊκών και ερευνητικών ιδρυμάτων και δύο ιδιωτικών επιχειρήσεων. Σκοπός του προγράμματος ΝΑRNIA είναι η εκπαίδευση δεκαεννέα νέων επιστημόνων τόσο στις παραδοσιακές αρχαιολογικές τεχνικές έρευνας όσο και στις νέες τεχνολογίες και αναλυτικές μεθόδους για τη μελέτη αρχαίων υλικών. Απώτερος σκοπός είναι να εφοδιαστούν οι νέοι επιστήμονες που θα συμμετάσχουν στο πρόγραμμα με γνώσεις και αναλυτικές ειδικότητες οι οποίες εκτός από την συμβολή τους στην διεθνή έρευνα, τελικά θα βελτιώσουν τις πιθανότητες εργοδότησής τους στο μέλλον.

Το πρόγραμμα αποτελεί μια συνεργασία με τον Prof. Tom Levy και τον Dr Erez Ben Yosef του Τμήματος Ανθρωπολογίας και με την Prof. Lisa Tauxe και τον Dr Ron Schaar από το Scripps Institution of Oceanography του University of California San Diego. Σκοπός του είναι η υψηλής ακρίβειας χρονολόγηση και μαγνητική μελέτη των αρχαίων σκωριών της Κύπρου.

Σκοπός του προγράμματος που χρηματοδοτείται από την Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση είναι η δημιουργία ενός εκπαιδευτικού προγράμματος για μουσεία που απευθύνεται σε παιδιά με σκοπό να τα διδάξει τη σημασία των συστηματικών ανασκαφών στην προστασία και διατήρηση της πολιτιστικής κληρονομίας και την καταστροφή που προκαλεί η αρχαιοκαπηλία. Ο σκοπός του προγράμματος είναι να δημιουργήσει ένα κινητό εργαστήριο εξοπλισμένο με όλα τα απαραίτητα όργανα για τον χαρακτηρισμό αρχαίων υλικών (φορητή XRF, οπτικό μικροσκόπιο, κλπ), για γεωφυσική έρευνα (proton magnetometer, electrical resistivity metre, differential GPS, κλπ) και για ψηφιακή καταγραφή αντικειμένων και μνημείων (3D Scanner, ψηφιακές φωτογραφικές, κλπ). Το πρόγραμμα συντονίζει το STARC του Ινστιτούτου Κύπρου και συμμετέχει η Ερευνητική Μονάδα Αρχαιολογίας.

Κύριος στόχος του προγράμματος είναι να διερευνήσει την οικονομική σημασία των δασών για την Κύπρο κατά την Αρχαιότητα και να καταγράψει τα αρνητικά αποτελέσματα που είχε η υπερεκμετάλλευση του φυσικού αυτού πλούτου στο περιβάλλον και τελικά στην οικονομία του νησιού.
