INFORMATION FOR ALL INCOMING STUDENTS
 
All incoming students wishing to come to the University of Cyprus as Erasmus or other exchange students must be OFFICIALLY NOMINATED by their home universities. A valid erasmus Bilateral Agreement must exist between them and the University of Cyprus.
 

OFFICIAL NOMINATION PROCEDURE
 
The nomination e-mail must be sent to Ms Emma Zeniou at zeniou.emma@ucy.ac.cy and must contain the following information:
 
NAME AND SURNAME OF STUDENT
DATE OF BIRTH
DURATION OF STAY (FALL SEMESTER, SPRING SEMESTER, WHOLE ACADEMIC YEAR)
E-MAIL ADDRESS
MAIN DOMAIN OF STUDY
BILATERAL AGREEMENT WITH WHICH STUDENT IS EXCHANGED
SUBJECT AREA OF THE AGREEMENT
 

APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINES
 
The deadline for the receipt ot Erasmus and other exchanges application documents for the FALL SEMESTER and WHOLE ACADEMIC YEAR 2011-2012 is strictly the 15th June 2011. The deadline for the spring semester is the 15th November 2011.

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION
 
Accommodation applications are handled on a "first comes, first served basis" in case the number of applications exceed the number of available rooms.
The deadline for the receipt of accommodation applications is the 15th June 2011 for the FALL SEMESTER 2011-2012 and the 15th November 2011 for the SPRING SEMESTER 2011-2012.

Language Centre
 
The Language Centre of the University of Cyprus offers language courses in English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Russian and Turkish.
 
GREEK LANGUAGE COURSES
 
The courses of the Greek Language are offered at the School of Modern Greek of the University of Cyprus.
 
The School of Modern Greek offers courses in the Greek Language free of charge for the Erasmus students. There are 3 types of courses:
 
EILC Summer Intensive course 2011 
 
Dates: 25/7/2011 - 19/08/2011. For this course the students receive the EILC funding provided they apply for it at their home university.
Students need to fill in the EILC application and their home universities must send it by e-mail at smgreek@ucy.ac.cy at the lastest by 1st June 2011.
The stduents will receive 9 ECTS credits upon successful completion of the course and success in the final test. This course is offered at all levels.

Students who do not receive the EILC funding can still apply for the greek courses. They are also free of charge fro them provided they will be Erasmus stduents at the University of Cyprus. They can choose between the 3 types of courses and indicate them on the School of Modern Greek Application. Please note that the application must be TYPED and not HANDWRITTEN.

General information on the Greek Courses

13 week intensive courses:
These courses are running twice a year throughout the semesters. There are two courses: One running from September to December and one running from January to April. These courses are offered at all levels.
Upon successful completion of this course and success in the final exam students receive 12 ECTS credits.
 
26 weeks non intensive course
This course is running throughout the academic year. Upon successful completion of this course and success in the final exam students receive 12 ECTS credits.

ERASMUS EVENTS
 
Erasmus events are organized in coordination with the European Student Club of the University of Cyprus which was formed mainly by former Erasmus students of the University of Cyprus. These events include parties, lectures, walk in divided Nicosia, participation in Limassol Carnival parade etc.
