Profile

Loucas S. Louca received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1998. He also received his MSE in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1994 and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1992.

He is currently a Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of Cyprus. Before that he was an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan.

He is a member of ASME, SAE, and SCS. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the Modeling, Identification and Intelligent Systems technical committee of the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Division.


Research Interests

His research interests lie in the areas of dynamic systems, physical based system modeling, model reduction and automated modeling, computer aided modeling and simulation, haptic devices for rehabilitation and modeling of automotive systems.
