Welcome to the Department of Accounting and Finance (AFN) at the University of Cyprus!

Since its establishment, the AFN Department has been aiming for research excellence and quality teaching.

According to the Finance Research Ranking by the Arizona State University for publications in the top 4 academic journals in Finance, the AFN Department is ranked in the top 200 worldwide, the top 30 in Europe (EU-27) and number 1 among Greek-speaking universities over the period 2000-2022.

Moreover, according to Accounting Research Rankings by Brigham Young University on the quality of research in Accounting based on the number of publications in the leading academic journals of the field, the AFN Department is ranked in the top 200 worldwide, the top 15 in Europe (EU-27) and number 1 among Greek-speaking universities over the period 2000-2022, in Archival Financial Accounting research.

The AFN department maintains strong links to Accounting and Finance Professional Bodies and offers to its students opportunities for a significant number of exemptions from valuable professional qualifications. In addition to its popular undergraduate programs, the AFN department also offers an MSc and a PhD in Finance.
