• Transparency in Use

Key Point

If you used AI tools in your work, clearly disclose and reference them according to your course’s instructions.. Transparency reflects integrity, respect for, and compliance with academic standards.

Examples

✅ Write in your assignment: 'AI was used to check grammar and brainstorm ideas.

✅ Mention AI assistance in a footnote or appendix, unless your course instructor gives other instructions.

❌ Don’t hide the role AI played in helping you plan or write your work.

❌ Don’t use vague statements — clearly explain which parts were AI-assisted.

Excerpt from the Official Guidelines

While AI can support learning, certain AI tools considered to pose limited risk require transparency in their use. Examples include AI-powered chatbots (e.g., ChatGPT for brainstorming), and adaptive learning platforms (e.g., AI-driven tutoring systems). If students use these tools in ways that directly influence their academic work, their use must be disclosed and properly referenced.

For graded assignments, exams, or projects, if AI tool usage is not addressed in the general guidelines, students must consult the course instructor to determine what is permitted.
