The University of Cyprus provides a High-Performance Computing (HPC) system with hardware and software for parallel and distributed high-performance computing and big-data processing. It supports Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Knowledge Extraction libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, CUDA, Conda, as well as many others from the EasyBuild catalog.
All members of the university community are eligible to use the System in accordance with the usage policy. Some of its uses include:
- Research by laboratories and Centers of Excellence
- Education and Training in undergraduate and postgraduate level
- Carrying out thesis/dissertation projects
- Faster execution of time-consuming programs compared with lab computers
It provides high computational power from 3,000 processor cores, 16 NVIDIA V100 graphics cards, 15 TB of RAM, and a parallel BeeGFS file system connected via 100 Gbps InfiniBand.
In addition, an interactive community has been created for knowledge sharing on the communication channel HPC | HPC & Research Infrastructure | Microsoft Teams.
