Teaching of Greek as a second/foreign language – UCY Lifelong Learning Program 2023-24

The seminar program, with Dr. Mina Giannoula (Departments of English Studies and Psychology UCY – ONISILOS Marie Curie Fellow) is addressed to graduates, students and non-students of the humanities and social sciences, the sciences of education and philosophy and in general to professionals in the field of education. It aims to highlight various aspects of teaching Greek as a second/foreign language. After the definition of the first, second and foreign language and the analysis of the effect it exerts on the formation of the educational reality, modern trends in the language teaching of Greek are determined, focusing, among others, on the creative use of new technologies, the principles of intercultural education and bilingualism. Approaches to the teaching/learning of the Greek language, its placement in various socio-cultural contexts and the creation of educational material for each target group are examined.

It will be held in 2-hour sessions on March 9 and 16, 2024, between 10:00am-12:00pm.
