The University of Cyprus announces the awarding of the \u201cIn Memory of Michalis (Mike) Polydorou\u201d Scholarship to Konstantinos Larkos, a postgraduate student of the Department of Computer Science.<\/p>\n
The scholarship covers the tuition fees of the recipient\u2019s postgraduate studies, amounting to \u20ac5,125, for the academic year 2025\u20132026. The decision was taken unanimously by the Department\u2019s Graduate Studies Committee, after thoroughly reviewing the applications of a total of 14 candidates.<\/p>\n
During a modest ceremony held on Thursday, 26 February 2026, at the University of Cyprus, in the presence of the Rector, Professor Tasos Christofides, and the leadership of the Department of Computer Science, the donor, Mr Charalambos Polydorou, along with members and friends of his family, had the opportunity to meet and congratulate Konstantinos Larkos.<\/p>\n
He is the fifth student to benefit from the scholarship since its establishment in 2023. Recognizing excellence and creating equal opportunities for the development of the new generation of scientists are strategic priorities for the University of Cyprus, supported by loyal friends and supporters of the University, including donor Charalambos Polydorou.<\/p>\n
