On Tuesday, 4th of April, the UCY Confucius Institute offered Ba Duan Jin lesson.
Ba Duan Jin is a traditional Chinese mind-body aerobic exercise of moderate intensity and is one of the most common forms of Qigong that has been practiced in China for over 1000 years. It is practiced to improve health, and to calm and heal the mind, body and spirit.
Practitioners are required to achieve coordination between mind and body. The physical stretching movements stimulate the flow of Qi through the meridians, improving strength and flexibility of the entire body. Each of the eight separate exercises focus on a different physical area and Qi meridian.
