Workshop: Supporting quality teaching: Designing to use data to improve and develop teaching and learning - In this workshop, we will address the question of using data to inform teaching and learning. In the contemporary learning context, data is increasingly available to show how learners are engaging with content, each other and the lecturer/teacher. These interactions may be in a digital space, such as a learning management system, or they may be in the face-to-face classroom. As an increasing number of digital tools, different kinds of tasks and change initiatives enter into the learning and teaching space, it becomes important to understand and assess what is happening through reflective practice. Workshop participants will consider questions that may be asked in the learning environment, data available, how to design learning to use data and how results may be interpreted. To do this, the group will work as an interdisciplinary team to consider these aspects of reflective practice from a range of perspectives and experience. Expected outcomes from the workshop are a plan for designing for data use and analysis to support reflective practice in participants' current teaching.
