The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is responsible for monitoring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (ΕΕ) 20106/679 (GDPR) within the University of Cyprus. His role is advisory. The main tasks of the DPO are to inform the management and the different departments of the University of Cyprus (Controllers) of the their obligations and to provide advice on request as to when and how a data protection impact assessment should be carried out. The DPO is the contact point between the University of Cyprus and the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.
