The admission procedure for postgraduate students at the University of Cyprus takes place through the Graduate School which announces available programmes and places. In addition to announcing the number of places available in each field of study and the application procedure, the eligibility criteria for candidates are also mentioned, as well as other required documents that must be attached to the application.
PROSPECTIVE APPLICANTS
Prospective students must have completed an undergraduate degree in Archaeology, History, Anthropology, or other related fields of research (e.g. History of Art, Architecture, Geography, Geology, Topography, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering). Graduates of the University of Cyprus and Universities of Greece must have an undergraduate diploma with a cumulative grade of 6.5 or higher. The equivalent is required for graduates from other Universities.
Three (3) places are available for the Ph.D. program in “Digital Heritage and Landscape Archaeology”.

Applications must be submitted online and must include the following:
- Digital copy/ies of Bachelor degree/s from a recognized University.

- Two (2) letters of recommendation,
Together with your application, you must submit, the names and addresses of at least two (2) referees (University Professors) familiar with the candidate and his/her academic performance. Candidates should request letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies of the Department. The Department may request additional confidential information from referees.
- Curriculum Vitae,
- Letter of intent: a short (1 page / up to 650 words) statement of personal goals and research interests (in English),
- Applicants must speak English at a satisfactory level: GCE or TOEFL with a grade “B” or higher for GCE- O’ level, and 600 for TOEFL, or a score of a 6.5 or higher on the IELTS Academic exam (this does not apply to native speakers or holders of a degree from an English speaking University).
- Except the above supporting documents that candidates need to submit in the online application system of the University of Cyprus, they shall need to submit a preliminary research proposal (5-10 pages including references) that will explain the research topic of their PhD.
Candidates who meet the necessary requirements will be called for an interview. Overseas applicants will be interviewed via teleconference.

The deadline for the submission of applications is announced every year by the School of Graduate Studies.
The submission of applications for the postgraduate programme for Fall Semester 2024/2025 expires on 10 May 2024.
