Dr. Katerina Raoukka has assumed the duties of Special Teaching Staff for the Department since 2020. She held the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol until August 2020 at which she was Deputy Head of teaching and also Lead Senior Tutor responsible for supporting the personal and academic development of all undergraduate students in the school of Economics. She obtained her PhD at Cardiff University in 2013 and specialises in macroeconomics and teaching methods in economics. She has presented at various pedagogical conferences in the UK and was nominated for the Best Teaching award at the University of Bristol in 2017 and 2019.  She is also a Fellow of Higher Education Academy.

 

At the Department of Economics of the University of Cyprus, she has undertaken the teaching of the course ECO121 Principles of Macroeconomic, which she has reformed after funding for the Teaching Innovation Award in 2021-22 (Teaching Innovations KE.DI.MA). She also teaches ECO310 Money, Banking and Financial Markets. She is also an assistant in a number of courses including EC112 Application of Quantitative Methods in Economics, EC222 Introduction to Econometrics, EC262 Advanced Macroeconomics and EC261 Advanced Microeconomics.  She is also a member of various committees in the Department and has taken over the Department's website since 2023.

Her research focuses on pedagogical teaching methods in economics, particularly for generation Z.
