Ο Δρ. Άγγελος Κασσιανός είναι Ειδικός Επιστήμονας Έρευνας και Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου, Τμήματα Ψυχολογίας (ACT healthy lab) και Πληροφορικής (eHealth lab) και Senior Research Fellow στο Τμήμα Εφαρμοσμένης Υγείας του Πανεπιστημίου του UCL. Είναι Ψυχολόγος Υγείας με έμφαση στη δημόσια υγεία και στη συμπεριφορική ιατρική (behavioural medicine) και με ερευνητικό ενδιαφέρον όσον αφορά τους βιο-ψυχο-κοινωνικούς παράγοντες σχετικά με την πρόληψη ασθενειών και της έγκαιρης διάγνωσης (κυρίως του καρκίνου), της διστακτικότητας εμβολιασμών (vaccination hesitancy) και της ανάπτυξης ψηφιακών παρεμβάσεων υγείας (digital health interventions). Συντονίζει αρκετά ερευνητικά έργα:

- Tackling anti-vaccination: mapping the social transmission of beliefs and attitudes (SAFEST). Excellence grant (Life Sciences) funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation. May 2020-May 2022

- Guiding metastatic breast cancer women after diagnosis to meet unmet needs: an avatar-based web platform (GIFTED). SPARC Metastatic Breast Cancer Challenge Grant funded by the Union of International Cancer Control (UICC). Oct 2019 – Feb 2021 

- Testing and Evaluating the Collection of Patient Reported Outcomes In Cancer CarE Using Innovative Approaches: The ePROM Digital Health Tool (PRICE). Funded as Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellowship (Mentors: Prof. Constantinos Pattichis and Dr. Maria Karekla). Sep 2019 – Sep 2021

- Stay on Track: a web platform to help with adhering to prescribed medication.  Social Innovation grant funded by the Research and Innovation Foundation programme RESTART 2016-2020. Dec 2018 – Dec 2020 

- COVID IMPACT study  study which is based on theories of psychology and aims to provide evidence on the mechanisms people use to cope with the impact of COVID-19 such as physical isolation and on peoples' health behaviours. Please click here to participate! 

Είναι επίσης συν-επικεφαλής του ερευνητικού προγράμματος eCREST (electronic Clinical Reasoning Educational Simulation Tool) στο UCL που στοχεύει στην εκπαίδευση ιατρικού και νοσηλευτικού προσωπικού με χρήση προσομοιώσεων ασθενών και το οποίο εφαρμόζεται και στην Κύπρο. - ‘Stay Healthy After Baby’: A cross-national study to support smoking abstinence and inter-related cancer prevention behaviours among postpartum women. International Innovation Grant funded by Cancer Research UK Population Research Committee - BUPA Foundation Fund (PI C. Notley, University of East Anglia). Aug 2017-Mar 2019 

Έχει συμμετάσχει σε περισσότερες από 20 επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις και έχει παρουσιαστεί σε πολλά συνέδρια. Το 2016 ήταν προσκεκλημένος ομιλητής στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο για να μιλήσει για την ηλεκτρονική υγεία. Πληροφορίες εδώ 

Το 2017, βραβεύτηκε ως ένας από τους κορυφαίους νέους καινοτόμους ερευνητές της Ευρώπης λαμβάνωντας την υποτροφία Young Transatlantic Innovation Leadership Initiative (YTILI) ενώ το 2018 έλαβε το βραβείο Early Career Award της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Ψυχολογίας της Υγείας (EHPS). Είναι ο Εθνικός Αντιπρόσωπος της Κύπρου στο EHPS.
