Ο Κώστας Μ. Κωνσταντίνου είναι Καθηγητής Διεθνών Σχέσεων στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου με ερευνητικά ενδιαφέροντα στη διπλωματία, διένεξη, διεθνή θεωρία, και νομικές και κανονιστικές πτυχές των διεθνών σχέσεων. Εκπόνησε το διδακτορικό του με υποτροφία (Overseas Research Scholarship) στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Lancaster, δίδαξε στα Πανεπιστήμια του Hull, Keele, Lancaster και Λευκωσίας, και ως επισκέπτης ακαδημαϊκός στo Πανεπιστήμιo του Taras Shevchenko στο Κίεβο και στο Τεχνικό Πανεπιστήμιο Μέσης Ανατολής στην Άγκυρα. Διετέλεσε Επισκέπτης Εταίρος στο Ερευνητικό Ινστιτούτο Κοινωνικής Ανάπτυξης των Ηνωμένων Εθνών (UNRISD), και έχει διεξαγάγει έρευνα πεδίου, πέραν της Κύπρου, στην Ινδία, Νεπάλ, Λίβανο, Ισραήλ, Τουρκία και Κένυα. Το έργο του έχει λάβει διεθνείς βραβεύσεις και διακρίσεις, καθώς και χρηματοδότηση, μεταξύ άλλων, από το Leverhulme Trust, το 7ο Πρόγραμμα Πλαίσιο της ΕΕ, τις χρηματοδοτήσεις του Ευρωπαϊκού Οικονομικού Χώρου, και το Ίδρυμα Λεβέντη. Έχει διατελέσει εξωτερικός αξιολογητής σε Πανεπιστήμια της Ευρώπης, Αμερικής, Αφρικής και Αυστραλίας, και μέλος σε συντακτικές επιτροπές διεθνών επιστημονικών περιοδικών, μεταξύ άλλων, στα Diplomatica, International Political Sociology, Politics, Religion and Ideology και Review of International Studies.

Η έρευνά του, αυτή την περίοδο, επικεντρώνεται στα ακόλουθα:
(1) Αποικιακά Συστήματα Διακυβέρνησης και Πρακτικές Αυτοδιάθεσης: Μελέτη των ιστορικών και νέων μορφών αποικιοκρατίας και του τρόπου με τον οποίο διαφορετικές αξιώσεις αυτοδιάθεσης επιδιώκονται στο διεθνές σύστημα.
(2) Μετασχηματισμός της Πολυμερούς Διπλωματίας: Μελέτη των προκλήσεων και των προοπτικών της ενισχυμένης συμμετοχής μη κρατικών φορέων στην πολυμερή διπλωματία, σε τοπικό και διεθνές επίπεδο.
(3) Πολιτιστική Διπλωματία και Δημιουργικές Παρεμβάσεις στα Ηνωμένα Έθνη: Μέρος ενός πιο εκτεταμένου ερευνητικού προγράμματος που χρηματοδοτείται από την ΕΕ με τίτλο "ArtPeace: Investigating and Strengthening Grassroots Cultural and Creative Practices for Conflict Transformation in Europe and Beyond" (2026-2029).
