Anna Georgiadou holds a BA degree in Archaeology and History of Art (2005) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She continued her postgraduate studies in Mediterranean Archaeology, at the University of Aix-Marseille, France (2006-2007) and completed her doctoral studies at the University Aix-Marseille, in international cotutelle with the University of Athens [Dec. 2013, PhD title: La céramique géométrique de Chypre (XIe-VIIIe s. av. J.-C.): étude des ateliers régionaux].
 
During 2014, A. Georgiadou worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Haifa, Zinman Institute of Archaeology, Israel, for the project Cypro-Phoenician liaisons in the Early Iron Age in light of the Tel Dor Cypro-Geometric Assemblage: chronological, stylistic, regional and cultural aspects (funded by the University of Haifa). Between 2015-2017 she has undertaken post-doctoral research at the University of Lyon 2, funded by the Gerda Henkel Stiftung [Title: Tracing contact networks between Cyprus and the Levant in the Early Iron Age: a case study based on the polities of eastern Cyprus (Kition, Salamis) and southern Levant (11th -8th c. BC)]. She has worked as teaching associate at the University of Cyprus, Department of History and Archaeology during 2016, for the undergraduate course: The Iron Age pottery of Cyprus (ARC 262).  
 
Α. Georgiadou has been employed since 2018 up to present as research scientist at the Archaeological Research Unit, University of Cyprus. She was the principal investigator of the programme MuseCo, Bringing Life to Old Museum Collections: The Interdisciplinary Study of Pottery from the Cypriot Iron Age Polities of Salamis, Soloi, Lapithos and Chytroi (EXCELLENCE HUBS/1216/0093, 2018-2021),  cordinated by Prof. George Papasavvas (co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and the Republic of Cyprus through the Research and Innovation Foundation). She was the coordinator and principal investigator of the research project SCAUT, Saving Cypriot Antiquities Under Threat, in collaboration with Dr Despina Pilides, former Curator of the Department of Antiquities Cyprus (2020-2023, funded by the FOC-Swiss Federation.
 
A. Georgiadou is currently a research associate at the project ComPAS, Commercial Patterns Across the Sea: The interdisciplinary study of maritime transport containers from Cyprus and the elucidation of Mediterranean connectivity during the Late Bronze Age-Early Iron Age (ERC Starting Grants) which is cordinated by Assistant Prof. Artemis Georgiou. During the spring semester 2023, she taught in colaboration with Associate Prof. Konstantinos Kopanias, at the University of Athens the postgraduate seminar (PR28) The transition from the end of the Late Bronze Age into the Early Iron Age in the Near East and Cyprus. A. Georgiadou is also a reseach fellow at the University Lyon 2, HiSOMA (since January 2024).  She has been involved in various research and excavation projects, in Cyprus, Greece, France, Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Lebanon. 
 
 
Her research interests include: material culture studies; pottery technology and production in Iron Age Cyprus and the eastern Mediterranean; cross-Mediterranean interconnections; Iron Age chronology.
