Graduate studies at the University of Greifswald, Germany (M. Ed., 1985), German as a Foreign Language in Theory and Practice at the University of Kassel (1995-1998).Birgit taught German courses at the Goethe- Zentrum from 1990 until 2007. She has has been teaching at the University of Cyprus since 1996. She regularly participates in teacher training seminars and conferences in Cyprus, Germany, Austria and Switzerland where she has delivered papers on the use of media, learning techniques and the application of the Common European Framework of Languages. She is involved in seminars and workshops for teachers of German and in the preparation of German exams for government bodies. Registered as local lecturer with the DAAD.
