C.A. Charalambous obtained a 1st class Honours degree in EEE from UMIST, UK (2002) and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester (2006). He was then employed as Research Fellow in the High Voltage Lab of the University of Manchester (2006-2010). In 2010, he was elected in the rank of Assistant Professor at the ECE department of the University of Cyprus. Currently, he is a tenured Associated Professor (since 2016). In 2013, he has founded the Power Systems Modelling Laboratory (PSM) that operates under the auspices of the ECE department. As Principal Investigator (PI), he has secured and managed over 1.6 million euros of funding from competitive research and industrial sources. His work is internationally recognised and has influenced industry practices. He was an invited member of the working group that has produced the Technical ISO Standard 21857:2021. His research work has been used to inform this standard on the topic of Photovoltaic Interference as well as on topics relating to dc and ac interference resulting from modern power systems. In particular, eight (8) of his published peer-reviewed research papers are referenced in the bibliography list of ISO 21857:2021, as further reading suggestions. He has published more than 90 research papers in selected top Scientific Journals (mainly IEEE Transactions & IET Research Journals) and in peer-reviewed conference proceedings. He has offered consulting services in the area of dc and ac interference for leading international companies and complex projects across the world. Charalambos is a registered Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) in the UK and Fellow of the IET (FIET).

- Investigation of Metal Fusion and Gas Leakage Incidents on DESFA Natural Gas Pipeline, due to Direct Lightning Strikes (For the Hellenic Gas Transmission System Operator – 2018).
- AC electromagnetic interference evaluation for a proposed subsea development with an armoured umbilical in the same trench with a Carbon Steel Pipeline (For Intertek UK - 2017).
- Assessment and Mitigation Design for the effects of electromagnetic interference on Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) caused by HV AC traction Systems and HV/MV AC power supply Systems. (For the Design & Construction Consortium of TAP - 2016)
- Stray Current Corrosion Performance of Concrete and Steel Sleepers on the tram train project between Sheffield and Rotherham (For Intertek UK -2016)
