Haris Charalambous worked as a computer and network engineer at the IT company Demstar Information Group, mainly supporting the
installations and configurations of Laiki bank's network and its IT systems throughout Cyprus and its 7 branches in London.
He worked from January 1994 until December 2019 in the IT Infrastructure Service , specifically in the field of networks and
telecommunications with specialized tasks in the planning of networks and the registration of technical specifications for the
new and existing buildings of the Campus and the support of the active and passive network equipment.
In the framework of his employment at the University of Cyprus, he dealt with several projects in the Networks and
Telecommunications Sector which cover important areas of the University's operation in terms of infrastructure and network
services. The network sector projects in which he has been involved fall under the following categories:
• Network Fault Management Service/Network Performance Management and Monitoring Network Planning, Network Development and Active
Network Equipment Management • Management of 110 Telecommunications equipment and server rooms • Structured Indoor Cabling and Inter-Building Cabling • Network Planning, Network Development and Active Network Equipment Management Service • Unified Network Services – IP Telephony • Technical Support of the Cyprus Research and Academic Network (KEAD)
Alongside his work at University Of cyprus had worked on the Design and registration of the technical Specifications and for the
implementation of a High Performance network at the General Hospital of Nicosia and Famagusta. The project was assigned by the
Republic of Cyprus to a group of Ucy engineers led by Dr. Andreas Pitsillidis.
A project undertaken by University Of Cyprus due to its complexity and size (102,000 sq.m/6000 Network ports) since the network
part exceeded 4 million euros. Since January 2020, he has been working in the Technical and Computer Support team in the following Faculties,Departments and
Administrative Services:
