Dimitris Trimithiotis is an Assistant Professor in Journalism and Media at the Department of Social & Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Aix-Marseille University, France (2013). His research is mainly located in the fields of sociology of news, media and journalism studies, media discourse and political communication. He participated in several European research projects mainly on the journalistic coverage of elections and of politics and the discursive construction of reality. He published his work in international peer-reviewed editions in English, French and Greek language. He is a member of the Cyprus Committee of Media Ethics.
