He has a BSc in Economics (University of York, 1999) and an MSc (2001) and PhD (2006) in Economics (University of Leceister). He then moved to University College London (UCL) as a Senior Research Officer at the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM). He has taught at the University of Leicester (Teaching Fellow) and at the University of Cyprus (Visiting Lecturer). Lecturer (2008-2012),  Assistant Professor (2012-2021), Associate Professor (2021 - ).
