Philippos Louis joined the Department of Economics at the University of Cyprus in 2017. 

He received his BA in Public and Business Administration, with a minor in Political Science, from the University of Cyprus. After that, he pursued postgraduate studies at the Autonomous University of Barcelona from where he received a MSc and a PhD in Economic Analysis. Before returning to Cyprus, he held post-doctoral research positions at the University of Zurich and the University of New South Wales in Sydney.

His research interests are in Behavioral Economics, Game Theory, Experimental Economics and Market Design. His research has been published in leading scientific journals such as American Economic Review, Economic Journal and Games and Economic Behavior. In recent years, together with colleagues from the Department of Psychology, he coordinates the interdepartmental Master's program in Behavioral Economics.
