Undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon (B.A., 1984), graduate studies at the University of Stuttgart (M.A. Linguistics and German Language/Literature, 1987). She taught at the University of Stuttgart Language Center (1991-1994) concentrating in the area of Academic Essay Writing and the TOEFL exam . She has been a keynote speaker, presented at numerous international conferences and led many teacher training workshops for EFL instructors. Current interests include UX design for Language Learning Activities, Computer Assisted Language Learning, the development and design of Augmented Reality applications for language learning and materials development. She was awarded her PhD. in Technology Enhanced Learning from the department of Educational Research at Lancaster University, U.K.  She has participated in numerous Erasmus projects and the project CiELL won the British Council international ELTONs award for digital innovation, received a letter commendation for EDI as well as being cited as an EU best practise.
