Modestos is a Senior Research Associate and Marie S. Curie fellow at ECMP Laboratory. His research focuses on nanofabrication and advanced spectroscopic characterization of photonic resonators used for LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes) and laser applications, with semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) as the gain medium, aiming the development of novel photonic devices for light generation and manipulation. His academic background includes completing his Ph.D. studies at the University of Sheffield in 2015, where he was supervised by Professor Tao Wang. During his Ph.D., Dr. Athanasiou specialized in gallium nitride growth, nanofabrication techniques, and electro-optical assessment of III-nitride structures. In his free time enjoys playing basketball, going at the gym and socializing with friends and family.

Paris is a Senior Research Associate fellow at ECMP Laboratory. His expertise includes film preparation, post -synthetic treatment, microscopy and advanced spectroscopic characterization of semiconductor nano and microstructures. His studies mainly focus on photophysical studies of hybrid and inorganic lead-based perovskites as well as their optoelectronics. His PhD work was carried out at the University of Cyprus under the supervision of Assoc. Professor Grigorios Itskos, on studies of the optical and electronic properties of PbS QD films and devices for light emission and light harvesting applications. In his free time enjoys watching movies, foraging, hiking and spending time with friends and family.

Panagiotis completed his Ph.D. degree in advanced nanocrystal (NC) modeling at the University of Leeds. Recently, he secured a post-doctoral fellowship through the ONISILOS program at the University of Cyprus. His project started on September 2023 focusing on the synthesis, characterization and modelling of InAs colloidal quantum dots for optoelectronic applications. On his free time Panagiotis likes to play football and do extreme sports, like snowboarding.

Andreas is a PhD candidate, currently studying the impact of different surface passivation techniques on the optoelectronic properties of inorganic metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs). He completed his MSc degree at the University of Cyprus, where he studied the effect of hot carriers on the emission of lead halide PNCs. In his free time, he likes to go hiking, watch movies, and play video games.

Aliki is a PhD candidate, currently working on the synthesis of core-shell gold-silica nanoparticles and studying the surface plasmon effects in formamidinium lead iodide nanocrystal films for light harvesting applications. She uses COMSOL to design and assess the performance of such hybrids via numerical modelling. She completed her MSc degree in Neuroimaging at King’s College London on the effects of intranasal oxytocin on the functional connectivity of the brain. In her free time she likes to exercise and read books.

Eleftheria is a PhD student, currently working on the synthesis and photophysics of heavy metal-free semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) with emphasis on III-V QDs. She completed her MSc degree in the group on studies of bulk heterojunctions of cesium lead halide nanocrystals with fullerene derivatives for light harvesting. In her free time she likes to draw, read books and play with her dogs.

Theodosia is a MSc student, currently working on perovskite nanocrystals and photolithography. She completed her undergraduate studies working on neutron star equations of state. In her free time, she like to train karate and go to the gym.
