The Committee comprises of the Teaching and Research Staff of each postgraduate programme and other Teaching and Research Staff of the Department if necessary. The Committee for each postgraduate programme is agreed in the Board of the Department of Education each academic year.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div><strong>Criteria<\/strong>\u00a0of interviews for admission in the postgraduate programmes:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of the nature of the postgraduate programme of interest. (20%)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to draw the link between background studies in education or relevant disciplines with the postgraduate programme of interest (20%)<\/li>\n<li>High commitment to studying\/researching for a postgraduate course (20%)<\/li>\n<li>Explanation of the content and process followed in previous research experience during undergraduate studies and postgraduate studies (if the application is for second master programme or for a PhD) (20%)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to express own research interests and level to which they are relevant to the programme of interest. (10%)<\/li>\n<li>Very good knowledge of English language (10%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>MODULES<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Learning outcomes<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2021\/07\/EQF_English_7_8-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">All modules are designed based on the European Quality Framework \u2013 EQF.<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Teaching methodology<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Lecture<\/li>\n<li>Group discussion<\/li>\n<li>Debate<\/li>\n<li>Group work<\/li>\n<li>Study of primary sources and critical reflection<\/li>\n<li>Study of art materials created by people with disabilities and critical reflection on the links with the theory and educational practice.<\/li>\n<li>Joint presentations\/writing<\/li>\n<li>Involvement in discussion fora and online activities that are part of the course<\/li>\n<li>Use of online archives and search tools of educational materials<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>Use of ICT for teaching purposes<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Use of Blackboard for students\u2019 access in presentations and readings that correspond to each module, as well as for assignment submission<\/li>\n<li>Group work using distance learning platforms, such as Teams and Zoom<\/li>\n<li>Discussion fora<\/li>\n<li>Use of websites and data bases of educational materials<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of software for the development of teaching materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><strong>Workload<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Workload is relevant to the number of ECTS of each module. One ECTS corresponds to a minimum of 25 hours of workload.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Each instructor makes decisions about the workload based on the nature of the module<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>A module of 12 ECTS requires about 300 hours (12 ECTS \u03a7 25 hours) in a semester. These are the core and elective courses of each programme. The workload may include the following:<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Attending lectures<\/li>\n<li>Reading papers and chapters that are relevant to the lectures<\/li>\n<li>Preparation (i.e. reading, data collection) and writing up of research project<\/li>\n<li>Preparation for presentation<\/li>\n<li>Study for mid-term and\/or final exam<\/li>\n<li>Other activities (e.g. study visits, portfolio activities, supervisions)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A module of 30 ECTS requires a workload of 600 hours (30 ECTS \u03a7 25 hours) in a semester.\u00a0\u00a0 These modules are the research and writing up stages. The workload may include the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reading the literature<\/li>\n<li>Data collection<\/li>\n<li>Data analysis<\/li>\n<li>Writing of the thesis<\/li>\n<li>Supervisions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div>\n<div><strong>Evaluation methods<\/strong><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According the Regulations of Postgraduate Attendance, course instructors may decide on the evaluation methods of each course and obtain the Department\u2019s approval. Each course needs to include at least two evaluation methods.
