- Σύνθεση και χαρακτηρισμός Ανόργανων Νανοϋλικών για Φωτονικές Εφαρμογές
 
Η έρευνα επικεντρώνετε στην σύνθεση ανόργανων κολλοϊδών νανοκρυστάλλων και κβαντικών τελειών με στοχευμένες οπτοηλεκτρονικές ιδιότητες για την αξιοποίηση τους σε καινοτόμες οπτοηλεκτρονικές συσκευες. Η έρευνα επικεντρώνεται κυρίως σε σύνθεση κβαντικών τελειών και ετεροδομών (core-shell)  ημιαγώγιμων υλικών (II-V, III-V, IV-VI etc) και οξειδίων.
 
 - Επιφανειακή Χημεία και Αυτο-οργάνωση Νανοκρυστάλλων 
 
Οι νανοκρύσταλλοι λογω του μικρού μεγέθους του ( μερικά νανόμετρα ) έχουν μεγάλη επιφάνεια σε σχέση με το μέγεθος τους, που σημαίνει ότι η επιφάνεια των νανοκρυστάλλων παίζει καταλυτικό ρόλο στην οπτοηλεκτρονική συμπεριφορά του υλικού. Συνεπώς, μελετάμε την τροποιήουμε τις επιφάνειες των νανουλικών αλλά και την αλληλεπίδραση μεταξύ τους για τον επιπλέον έλεχνο των οπτικών, καταλυτικών και ηλεκτρονικών ιδιοτήτων τους κυρίως για την δημιουργία λεπτών υμενίων.
 
- Οπτοηλεκτρονικές Εφαρμογές
 
Η έρευνα στοχεύει στην ανάπτυξη καινοτόμων οπτοηλεκτρονικών συσκευών με ανόργανους νανοκρυστάλλους .  Ανάπτυξη τεχνολογιών laser σε Vis και NIR για τηλεπικοινωνίες, silicon photonics και LIDAR , όπως επίσεις φωτοανιχνευτών και QLEDs .
