STUDIES  Marilena Karyolemou graduated from the University of Champagne-Ardennes (France) with a Maîtrise in Modern Literature (Lettres Modernes) and from the University of Paris V-René Descartes (Sorbonne, France) with a Maîtrise in Language Sciences. She was awarded herdoctorate in Linguistics cum laude from the same University in 1994. She then worked as a lecturer of French at Philips College, Nicosia. She was elected lecturer in linguistics at the University of Cyprus in 1997, then assistant professor in 2002 ans associate professor in 2007.
