April 8, 2025The EY Award in memory of Christia Rossidou-Sotiriou, amounting to €2,500, is presented annually to a final-year undergraduate or postgraduate female student who has distinguished herself through leadership abilities, a clear vision for the future, an open-minded and out-of-the-box thinking approach, and the ability to drive change through teamwork, beyond traditional union-related issues.
The selection committee, composed of the Dean of the School of Economics and Management and academic staff from all Faculties of the University of Cyprus, has decided that the award for the 2024–2025 academic year will be granted to postgraduate student Andrea Naziri from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering.
The Award Recipient
Ms. Naziri stands out for her academic excellence and meaningful contribution to the community. During the interview, she expressed her deep passion for the environment, and it became clear that her personal journey has significantly shaped her vision. This was evident in her responses, which reflected maturity, awareness, and a genuine commitment to her goals, one of which is to continue her research through a psychoeducational program aimed at children and families in general.
Evaluation Criteria
Candidates are assessed based on the following criteria:
Academic performance
Ability to take initiative, inspire, and motivate others
Presence of a vision that inspires, opens paths, and promotes collective action for the common good
Resilience and creativity in the face of adversity and challenges
Open-mindedness, unconventional thinking, and a pioneering spirit
Ability to bring about change for the greater good
The award will be presented by an EY representative during the graduation ceremony for postgraduate students of the University of Cyprus, at a date and time to be announced later.
