March 31, 2025Following the great success of last year’s Summer Academies, the University of Cyprus is once again organizing Summer Academies for students, which will take place from June 30 to July 4, 2025. These Academies are aimed at students who wish to explore academic fields that interest them, get to know the University of Cyprus, and get a taste of university life.
This year, participants can choose from the following five Academies:
Medicine and Biosciences
Engineering and Technology Applications
Pure Sciences and Technology
Economics and Management
Social Sciences
Each Academy’s title reflects its main academic focus. The program includes workshops, lectures, experiments, discussions, tours, visits, use of the University’s Sports Centre, recreational activities, free time for socializing, and more. All instruction will be conducted in Greek, and participants will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the program.
Engineering and Technology Applications Academy
Offered by the Faculty of Engineering, this Academy provides a unique opportunity for students to explore the exciting world of engineering and technology. Through engaging activities, hands-on experiments, and educational programs, participants are inspired by the multidisciplinary nature of engineering and gain new knowledge and skills.
Students will explore the modern engineering professions of the future, including those of architect, civil engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and computer engineer. They will learn the fundamentals of bridge construction, statics, and material strength, and even build their own bridge. They will design single-seater race vehicles, develop robotics applications, and learn how to design sustainable green cities using digital architectural tools and renewable energy systems.
