They will acquire a sound knowledge of the humanities and social sciences as well as political science, in particular on topics related to European studies. These courses include: 1) fixed and additional mandatory courses, taught in the two languages chosen by the student, 2) courses taught by the Department of English Studies, History, Political and Social Sciences, Law, and the Language Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Students of the Diploma in Modern Languages and European Studies enrol in a combination of two languages: French-English, French-German, or French-Spanish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>A. visual arts. These courses are announced with their respective codes at the beginning of each semester.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. Additional Mandatory Courses (examples)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Additional Mandatory Courses are not courses freely chosen by students. These are\u00a0selected by the Department,\u00a0which publishes at the beginning of every semester the list of the proposed courses for the semester. organised by the University&#8217;s Departments, or by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/ctl\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Teaching and Learning (KEDIMA)<\/a>, (20 hours of intensive courses = 1 ECTS), may earn 2 ECTS in total within 4 years of studies. The Department recommends that all first year students obtain the Bulletin from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/fmweb\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MERIMNA<\/a>. Once the 2 ECTS have been completed, students submit their Report Card to MERIMNA, which validates these ECTS for the\u00a0<em>MET 000 Seminars and Conferences<\/em>\u00a0course.<\/p>\n<p><strong>D.
