Responsibilities of the Rector’s Office
The Rector’s Office performs administrative operations and provides services arising from the responsibilities and authorities of the Rector, as the senior academic and executive officer of the university.
According to the University of Cyprus Law (1989-2019), the Rector manages the operations of the institution, supervises the administrative services and is responsible for the execution of the decisions of the governing bodies (Council, Senate and Rectorate Council), as well as the implementation of the decisions of the committees he/she chairs and of the overall university policies.
The Rector’s Office is responsible for the communication and collaboration of the Rector with the university community, the State, the broader Cypriot society, as well as the international community. Moreover, the office manages the operations and actions that occur through the representation of the University of Cyprus by his/her Executive Officer and aids in achieving and promoting the meaningful multifaceted impact of the university (social, economic, culture) locally and internationally. Furthermore, the Office provides in a timely manner useful information to the responsible bodies and external collaborators thus facilitating the implementation of the strategic planning of the university and having as a sole purpose the orderly administrative operation of the institution and the undisrupted performance of its teaching and research work.
