Chrysanthou"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">We are delighted to announce that our Principal Investigator, Dr Chrysanthos S. Chrysanthou, has a new article accepted for publication in the <em>Journal of Hellenic Studies<\/em> (vol. 146, 2026), titled:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>\u201cCognitive Mapping and Social Cognition in Ancient Greek Narrative: Novelistic Couples.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">In this forthcoming paper, Dr Chrysanthou introduces and develops the innovative concept of cognitive mapping as a tool for analysing social and interpersonal cognition in ancient narrative. Using the couples of the five extant ancient Greek novels as a case study, the article shows how cognitive mapping can help us see couples as single characters and can illuminate the interplay between narrative, distributed cognition, and human relationships \u2014 offering fresh insights into character construction, plot development, and reader engagement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The study not only expands our understanding of collective and dyadic cognition in the ancient world, but also opens new pathways for dialogue between Cognitive Science and Classical Studies. Its implications extend beyond the ancient novel to broader discussions of personal identity, couple psychology, and interpersonal relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This is a significant contribution to both cognitive narratology and the philosophy of mind, reflecting the continued growth and intellectual impact of the <em>Group Minds in Ancient Narrative<\/em> project.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are delighted to announce that our Principal Investigator, Dr Chrysanthos S.
