{"id":3257,"date":"2025-02-26T11:29:32","date_gmt":"2025-02-26T09:29:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/hisarch\/?p=3257"},"modified":"2025-02-26T11:29:32","modified_gmt":"2025-02-26T09:29:32","slug":"call-for-expressions-of-interest-for-paper-or-poster-presentations-at-the-greci-concluding-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ucy.ac.cy\/hisarch\/call-for-expressions-of-interest-for-paper-or-poster-presentations-at-the-greci-concluding-conference\/?lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Call for Expressions of Interest for Paper or Poster Presentations at the GrECI Concluding Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0<em>GrECI\u00a0<\/em>consortium is delighted to invite papers for the project\u2019s concluding conference, which will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 22-24 October 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The thematic core of the conference will be the cultural heritage of Ancient Greece and the various ways it became a shared cultural archive for Europeans, as well as the ways in which it was used, disseminated, and functioned as a form of self-identification during the early modern period.<\/p>\n<p>Topics on book history and Greek (production, circulation), the role of ancient Greek in vernacular cultures, the use of Greek in religious controversies, or engagement with the material culture of ancient Greece are welcome as well as proposals on topics such as the use of Greek in the early modern classroom, early modern women\u2019s engagement with Greek culture, Greek and the study of law, and Catholic vs. Protestant receptions of Greek.<\/p>\n<p>We are interested, lastly, in papers that consider developments in research in the last five years, as well as papers that showcase diverse approaches and methods, including the use of digital humanities tools.<\/p>\n<p>We will be happy to accept abstracts for\u00a0<strong>25min<\/strong>\u00a0presentations (max.\u00a0<strong>250 words<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 including presenter\u2019s name and affiliation) by the\u00a0<strong>1st of April, 2025<\/strong>.
