“INTERCULTURAL INTELLIGENCE AND THE WELLBEING AND MENTAL HEALTH OF YOUNG PEOPLE “

 

 

The University of Cyprus organizes its 14th Erasmus+ Staff Training Week in Nicosia, Cyprus.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES 

The aim of this staff week is to share knowledge and learn from each other’s practices, challenges, and experiences using group discussions and techniques in the subject of the staff week.

The themes of this year’s staff week are Intercultural Intelligence and the Wellbeing and Mental Health of Young People

There will be two specific workshops.

The first one will be dedicated to ‘Intercultural Intelligence‘. Have you ever heard the term “Intercultural Intelligence”? Loosely defined, it is the academic language used to describe a persons learned capacity to adapt, understand, and function in a diverse setting. People who have developed high intercultural intelligence are generally open to new things, curious about themselves and others, emotionally mature, and have a low need to control their surroundings.

In the second workshop the issue on Young people’s mental health and well-being will be covered. These issues are impacted by a world with multiple crises and much uncertainty. Good mental health is a cornerstone for achieving many goals under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

TARGET GROUPS

This year’s staff week addresses members of staff working with diverse cultures and young people. These include Inclusion Officers, Erasmus Officers, IRO Officers, Academics and any other University staff dealing with diverse cultures and young people .

The staff week will include presentations and workshops relevant to the themes above. Each participant will be encouraged to exchange ideas and good practices, discuss the challenges in their workplace and enhance their relations for potential cooperation.

WHO CAN APPLY

Erasmus+ Coordinators, Academic Erasmus Coordinators, Mobility Officers and other staff members who deal with diverse cultures and young people are invited to apply for the staff week. Only applicants with direct or indirect connection to these topics will be approved. A maximum number of two participants will be approved per institution. Priority for approval will be given to participants who already have the the funding to participate.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINES

Mobility agreements will not be signed at the time of application. all paperwork will be completed after the approvals.

The deadline for the applications is the 12th of March 2025.

CONFIRMATION FOR PARTICIPATION

After the end of the deadline, all applications will be gathered and examined. Approved and non approved participants will be informed by e-mail.

PARTICIPATION FEES

There is a compulsory fee of 150 euro. The fee includes coffee breaks, lunches, the Erasmus+ dinner, the city tour, and the excursion.

VENUE OF THE ERASMUS STAFF WEEK

The Erasmus+ Staff Week will take place at the premises of the University of Cyprus New Campus in Aglantzia, Nicosia.

More information will be provided directly to the approved participants.

FUNDING FOR PARTICIPATION 

You may apply for funding at your home universities through the Erasmus+ Staff Training category (STT) or the Erasmus Organizational support (OS).
