ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME
ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-2025
All incoming students wishing to come to the University of Cyprus with the Erasmus+ programme or in the framework of other cooperation agreements must be OFFICIALLY NOMINATED by their home universities.
A valid Erasmus+ Interinstitutional agreement or other Exchange Cooperation Agreement (either interinstitutional or interdepartmental) must exist for the academic year 2024-2025, between the student’s home university and the University of Cyprus in the relevant subject area.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE AND DEADLINES: |
All partner universities must use the online nomination form to submit their nominations. Students must NOT nominate themselves, only partner universities can nominate the students.
Partner universities will receive the link for the nomination by e-mail.
Please note that all data in the nomination form must be completed. if something is missing the nomination of the students will not be proceeded.
All nominated students are informed via e-mail about the application documents, procedures and deadlines.
The deadlines for the receipt of the student nominations are:
- Fall semester 2024-25 and whole academic year: 1st May 2024
- Spring semester 2024-25: 1st October 2024
APPLICATION DOCUMENTS AND DEADLINES |
The Erasmus Application documents that are required are:
- Erasmus Application Form – online form (link will be provided to the students after the nomination is received)
- Learning Agreement (we expect students to use the Online Version of the Learning agreement created through the learning-agreement.eu platform
- Language Certificate Level B2 for the English and/or Greek and/or French Language (official language certificates such as IELTS, IGCSE, Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted plus certificates from the home university or its Language Centre provided the student attended language courses at the home university up to Level B2 which can be shown on the grades report that will be provided)
- Transcript of Records/Grades report from the home University
- Copies of previous degree titles (Bachelor and/or Master degrees) in the case of Master or PhD nominated students
- Copy of ID or passport (please provide a copy of the document which was declared in the Erasmus Application form)
The deadlines for the receipt of the above set of documents are:
- Fall semester 2024-25 and whole academic year: 20th May 2024
- Spring semester 2024-25: 20th October 2024

ACCOMMODATION |
There is a limited number of rooms available for the Student halls. Accommodation applications are handled on a “first comes, first-served basis” in case the number of applications exceeds the number of available rooms.
The deadline for the receipt of accommodation applications is the 15th of June 2024 for the 1st semester and the 15th of November 2024 for the 2nd semester.

TEACHING LANGUAGE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS |
The main language of teaching at the University is Greek. There are departments which offer courses in English. The Department of French and European Studies offers courses in French and German.
In the departments where there are no courses in English, there are courses in Greek that Erasmus students can select and for which they are supported by English bibliography, assignments, tutorials and exams in English provided the academics agree to offer them.
RECOGNITION OF COURSES |
Incoming students and their home university receive an original Transcript of Records/Grades report with all the subjects, corresponding ECTS credits and grades that were achieved during the exchange period.

GREEK LANGUAGE COURSES DURING THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024-2025 |
The courses in the Greek Language are offered by the School of Modern Greek of the University of Cyprus, free of charge for the exchange students.
There are 2 types of courses:
- 13-week intensive courses: These courses are running twice a year throughout the semesters. There are two courses: One running from September to December and one running from January to April. These courses are offered at all levels.
- 26 weeks of the non-intensive course: This course is running throughout the academic year.

STUDENT EXCHANGES OUTSIDE ERASMUS+ |
Students nominated outside the Erasmus+ programme must use the following application documents:
- Application Form
- Learning agreement
- A recent Transcript of Records from home university
- An official proof of knowledge of English (e.g. IELTS, IGCSE, TOEFL etc.) must also be sent. In the case of 2nd or 3rd cycle students, a copy of the Bachelor’s degree must also be attached
