General Information

French is one of the three working languages of the European Union along with English and German, and one of the two working languages of the UN, UNESCO and NATO, amongst others. The decision-making centres of the European Union and other international organizations are located in various French speaking cities, including Brussels, Strasbourg, Luxembourg, Geneva, and Lausanne.

This implies work access in areas of politics, economics, diplomacy, law, business, transport and sports.

The Adult Education Program attending to the needs of the general public, has included French language courses, structured in accordance with the proficiency levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages aiming to develop effective communicative and mediation skills, as well as social and cultural skills and knowledge, through the use of a variety of approaches based on interaction and the use of technology and authentic materials.

FRENCH INTERMEDIATE LEVEL – B1.1 (Part A)

Cost of the diagnostic exam: €30

Fees:  €480 euros, including teaching material. 

A reduction of 10% is granted for UCY students provided that the minimum number of enrolments is 7 participants. Tuition fees are payable in one instalment. Payment is made upon notification of the commencement of the program.

Important: 

  1. Holders of an A2 Certificate of the DELF examining board, and/or UCY students who have completed LAN 107 with a grade of at least 7.0 or above, are exempted from the diagnostic exam. Copies of the Certificates and the academic transcript must be submitted electronically to [email protected]as soon as your registration is complete.

1.1 A diagnostic test will be performed regarding the level of the interested parties in order to make sure that they meet the requirements of the program.

1.2The cost of the diagnostic exam is 30 euros, it's not refundable and must be prepaid to the bank account found in the above link. The receipt of the payment to the account must be presented at the exam. In the case of being accepted to the programme, the amount paid for the diagnostic exam will be subtracted from the registration fees of the programme.

  1. With the continuation of the program in the next semester (January – May 2025), in addition to the UCY Certificate for successfully attending the program, we will also prepare you should you wish to take up also the DELF exams for the B1 Intermediate level.

Minimum number of participants 10 people, maximum 15.
