The ceremony took place during the Joint Statistical Meetings 2024 in Portland, USA, which is one of the largest statistical events in the world. The designation of ASA Fellow has been a significant honour for nearly 100 years and reflects the significant impact of Fellow\u2019s research on advancing knowledge and practice in Statistics. Professor Fokianos receives the fellowship award \u201cFor outstanding contributions to time series analysis; especially theoretical and computational methodology for univariate and multivariate count time series analysis; for exceptional teaching and mentoring young researchers; and for important contributions to the profession.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>American Statistical Association<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASA is the largest professional organization of statisticians around the word. It was founded in 1839 in Boston and nowadays there are more than 15.000 professionals in academia, government, research, and business. It consists of more than 70 chapters, nearly 30 sections, 16 journals, and six yearly conferences.
