The University of Cyprus and the Technological University of Cyprus are unrelated and independent. There is no relationship between the School of Engineering at UCy and any similar departments that might be established at the Technological University of Cyprus in the future.
What is the relationship between the Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus and the School of Engineering?
The relationship between the School of Engineering and the Department of Computer Science is expected to be one of close collaboration. However, the two are completely independent. As a matter of fact the Department of Computer Science is part of a different School, the School of Natural Sciences. The programs of study in the two areas are different both with regards to courses and research interests. There is, naturally, some overlap between Computer Engineering and Computer Science. The main difference is that the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering will give more emphasis to the hardware, software that makes operation possible and network and communication systems.
