Τhe Oceanography Center of the University of Cyprus (OC-UCY) was founded in October 2010 and is the first research unit of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences. OC-UCY's goal is to develop oceanographic research focusing on the Eastern Mediterranean. Its mission is to conduct basic and applied research in the fields of ocean physics and dynamics, remote sensing, operational oceanography, biological and chemical oceanography, dedicated ocean and marine data and forecasting models.
