Throughout all the years at the Department, my studies were quite demanding, difficult but gratifying. Numerous times I had to either stay awake through the night studying or to spend my entire weekend at the University to finish an assignment or a lab report. Today, however, I do not regret at all for all the sacrifices I have made, but on the contrary I am grateful and happy for the knowledge and skills I have acquired. My years at the University were colored by many beautiful experiences such as my participation in two very interesting summer schools, one at KAIST, in South Korea in the summer after my undergraduate degree, and the second at CERN (the European Center for Nuclear Research), Switzerland, at the end of my first year of graduate studies. Those two summers will be unforgettable not only for the knowledge I acquired but also for the experiences I lived and all the people I had the chance to meet. Most important of all, however, was the final year of my Master studies, where I had the opportunity to engage in a research project at CERN and collaborate with some very renowned scientists. Today, I have taken a different course in my life, away from Physics, working as a bank employee. My knowledge of physics may not be directly applicable in this new period of my life, but the skills I acquired during my studies are very important in achieving my current goals and dreams.
