Η Νίκη Τσαγγαρίδου είναι Καθηγήτρια Φυσικής Αγωγής και της Διδακτικής της στο Πανεπιστήμιο Κύπρου. Εχει πτυχίο (B.S.) από το  Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών  (Tμήμα Eπιστήμης Φυσικής Aγωγής και Aθλητισμού), μεταπτυχιακό (M.Ed.) από το Boston University, ΗΠΑ (Curriculum and Teaching in Physical Education) και διδακτορικό (Ph.D.) από το Ohio State University ΗΠΑ (Teacher Education in Physical Education), με υποτροφίες από τη Γενική Γραμματεία Aθλητισμού της Ελλάδας και του Ohio State University. Έχει εργαστεί στα πανεπιστήμια Ohio State University (School of Education) και στο Δημοκρίτειο Πανεπιστήμιο (Tμήμα Eπιστήμης Φυσικής Aγωγής και Aθλητισμού). Έχει διατελέσει Visiting Scholar στο Ohio State University (School of Physical Activity and Educational Services). Εχει τιμηθεί με το βραβείο “Young Researcher Award” από το International Association for Physical Education in Higher Education και το βραβείο “Metzler-Freedman Exemplary Paper Award” from the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education.  Έχει δημοσιεύσει σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά και έχει παρουσιάσει πολλές επιστημονικές ανακοινώσεις σε διεθνή συνέδρια. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε επιτροπές έκδοσης επιστημονικών περιοδικών, ήταν μέλος της συντακτικής επιτροπής του Journal of Teaching in Physical Education και είναι κριτής σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά της Φυσικής Αγωγής. Υπήρξε, επίσης, εξωτερικός κριτής προπτυχιακών και μεταπτυχιακών προγραμμάτων σε  διεθνή πανεπιστήμια. Πρόσφατα έχει διοριστεί ως επιστημονική συντονίστρια των επιτροπών αναδόμησης των αναλυτικών προγραμμάτων της Φυσικής Αγωγής (προσχολική, δημοτική και δευτεροβάθμιας εκπαίδευσης) του Υπουργείου Παιδείας, Αθλητισμού και Νεολαίας. 

Τα ερευνητικά της ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζουν στη μάθηση και τη διδασκαλία της φυσικής αγωγής και περιλαμβάνουν θέματα που συμβάλουν την αναστοχαστική διδασκαλία, την αποτελεσματική διδασκαλία και την ανάλυση της, τα αναλυτικά προγράμματα, και την εκπαίδευση εκπαιδευτικών στην φυσική αγωγή.
