The Research in Science and Technology Education Group (ReSciTEG) of the University of Cyprus (Department of Education) conducts a coordinated program of research, curriculum development, and instruction. The group includes faculty members, research associates, post-doctoral and graduate students (both at the Master’s and Ph.D. levels).

At a national level, ReSciTEG (Prof. Zacharias Zacharia) is leading the curriculum reform efforts of the country for science, technology, and STE(A)M education across K-12. In addition, the group is taking a leading role in the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of Cyprus to implement its eLearning strategy through a series of projects including the design and use of multimedia environments for science teaching and learning. ReSciTEG frequently organizes pre-service and in-service teachers' professional development programs, concerning a variety of issues (e.g., curriculum design and evaluation, formative and summative assessment, peer assessment, computer-supported learning, inquiry-based learning, ICT, and other innovative application in STE(A)M education).

Furthermore, ReSciTEG is active in research into inquiry-based learning, technology-enhanced curriculum design, physical and virtual laboratory experimentation, modeling, STE(A)M curriculum development and assessment, teacher professional development, educational evaluation, and non-formal science education. The Group’s work has received continuous financial support over the years from the national Research & Innovation Foundation, and the European Commission (through various programs, e.g., IST, Science and Society, ERASMUS+, FP 7, H2020). Also, ReSciTEG’s members have published numerous research papers in many major peer-reviewed journals (e.g., Science, Cognition and Instruction, Learning and Instruction, Journal of Research in Science Teaching) and have presented their work in various international conferences (e.g., ESERA, EARLI, NAARST).
