In the enchanting landscape of Cappadocia in Turkey, between August 28 and September 1, 2023, the 15th<\/sup> conference of ESERA (European Science Education Research Association) took place, with the theme “Connecting Science Education with Cultural Heritage”. The conference brought together academics, educators, and researchers from around the world to share ideas and engage in meaningful discussions on current research developments in science education.<\/p>\n

Among them was our research group, which actively participated with three oral presentations and an interactive workshop. Our work delved into various aspects of science education, each offering a unique perspective and contributing to the conference\u2019s overall goal. In two of the presentations, some of the key findings of the SALL project concerning the impact of the Open Schooling approach on students\u2019 affective domain were presented, while the third one concerned the utilization of the Model-Based Learning approach for enhancing pre-service teachers\u2019 understanding of complex phenomena. Finally, in the workshop, participants had the opportunity to experience the Living Lab approach developed in the framework of the SALL project.<\/p>\n
