Project Description
The University of Cyprus (UCY) has recently announced an international tender for the upgrade of Energy Center A’.
This project is integral to the University’s strategic plan to transform its campus into a sustainable and smart city, capable of adapting to future development needs within a sustainable and flexible framework.
The objective of upgrading the energy center is to achieve energy savings and enhance its smart management capabilities. These goals will be accomplished through the replacement and enhancement of existing electrical and mechanical equipment, which will reduce operational costs and provide improved comfort for campus users.
The upgrade will include the replacement of oil boilers, the installation of a new oil tank, new chillers, and the replacement of existing pumps. Additionally, the existing energy management and control system will be replaced with the installation of smart meters and sensors, further improving the management and reduction of energy consumption.
The project commenced in October 2023 and is expected to be completed in March 2025.
