TWIN4MERIT aims to create multiple impact for the ECRs involved in the project. This extends further from UCY to interested ECRs from the advanced partners but also to ECRs active in fields related to the MERIT field from the Cyprus academic community through the mediation and organisation of relevant activities and events by EOC. To that end, a dedicated work package of the project is devoted to building the R&I capacity of UCY and Cyprus through their emerging research talent and also enable the ECRs of the advanced partners to acquire knowledge and skills in novel methodological approaches and new horizontal concepts in the MERIT field. To this end, at least 10 UCY ECRs and over 10 additional ECRs from Cyprus will be given the opportunity to engage in training and other skill-building activities within TWIN4MERIT.
The project investment in Early Career Researchers will have a fourfold purpose:
- to greatly improve their research abilities through training, mentoring and participation in high-quality research and research dissemination activities;
- to enhance their innovation capacities through networking and secondments in the advanced partners;
- to strengthen their administrative skills through active involvement in the project management and the organisation of various project events; and
- to enhance their transferable skills in preparing competitive research proposals, run research projects and manage intellectual property.
The ECRs will be expected to present papers in international conferences and submit their work in international academic journals for open access publications. They will participate in the organisation of academic and outreach events. They will give outreach lectures, and they will largely administer the TWIN4MERIT public dialogue.
