• Research Originality

Key Point

Your scientific contribution must come from you—AI may assist, not replace, original work.

Examples

✅ Use AI to rephrase your own thoughts and text for clarity.

✅ Generate alternative interpretations, then test them with evidence.

❌ Don’t submit AI-generated results or discussions as your own.

❌ Don’t use AI to fill gaps or discuss results you haven’t critically analyzed — it risks false or exaggerated claims.

❌ Don’t use AI to produce entire manuscripts without meaningful edits.

Excerpt from the Official Guidelines

A basic tenet of research work is the original contribution to science and any use of AI that leads to non-genuine contributions is not permitted. This prohibition falls under unacceptable risk due to the potential for AI to undermine academic integrity by producing content without genuine authorship, introducing algorithmic bias, and facilitating the submission of non-original work.
