Theodore K. Vasileiou was born in Athens, Greece. He studied Archaeology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (Faculty of History and Archaeology – Department of Archaeology and Art History/ School of Philosophy) (2015). He holds a Master’s degree from Leiden University, the Netherlands (Universiteit Leiden), where he focused on ceramic studies (ceramic petrography) during his programme MSc. Material Culture Studies – Faculty of Archaeology (2018).
Theodore has been involved in research programmes of the NKUA (Paleopolis on Andros, Karthaia on Keos) and LU and has worked as an archaeologist for the Ministry of Culture in Greece during 2020.
Today, Theodore is a scientist at the Archaeological Research Unit of the University of Cyprus, where he is enrolled as a PhD student. His research focuses on Early Medieval Technology and Culture in the Eastern Mediterranean under the supervision of prof. dr. A. K. Vionis. He is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow in the European Project “PlaCe-ITN” Training the next generation of archaeological scientists: Interdisciplinary studies of pre-modern Plasters and Ceramics from the eastern Mediterranean (Horizon 2020).
